FAQs
-
Invisalign is a form of orthodontic treatment that involves wearing clear removable aligners to straighten teeth.
Benefits of Invisalign Aligners:
Discreet: Invisalign Aligners offer a subtle way to straighten teeth, especially suitable for adults seeking orthodontic treatment.
Faster and predictable treatment: Most patients achieve desired results within 6-12 months. Diligent aligner use can even lead to faster outcomes compared to traditional braces
Comfortable: Invisalign aligners are often more comfortable than traditional braces because they are made of smooth plastic instead of metal brackets and wires.
Better oral health: Crowded teeth can make proper cleaning difficult, increasing the risk of cavities and gum disease. Invisalign aligners help improve oral hygiene.

Every Invisalign journey varies in length, depending upon their treatment goals and starting position of their teeth. The majority of patients can expect results within 6-12 months with diligent wear of their aligners.
-
At times patients can experience pain at the start of treatment, this is primarily due to beginning orthodontic tooth movement and also allowing the Invisalign aligner to settle into the mouth. We generally recommend taking some Paracetamol or Ibuprofen.
-
This depends on the patient. Some patients do not get a lisp at all, whilst other patients will have a lisp for the first two to three days of treatment, while your mouth adjusts to the Invisalign aligner. This is completely normal. Your mouth will adapt to the aligner but it is very helpful to practise speaking with an aligner brace. Singing to the radio and talking will help to make that lisp go away very quickly.
-
A retainer is a device you wear after your Invisalign treatment that helps prevent your teeth from moving after your Invisalign braces are removed and your treatment is complete. We encourage all of our patients to wear their retainers every single night to maintain their straight teeth, failure to do this can result in your teeth relapsing to their original position.

Yes, you can. You can drink tea and coffee wearing an Invisalign aligner, so long as whatever you're drinking is not too hot. Just be sure that once you get home, you brush your teeth and brush the aligners. We recommend wearing your Invisalign aligners for 22 hours per day.
